People keep asking me if I’m excited for the marathon, and if by excited
they mean anxious, nervous, agitated, uneasy and generally stressed
out, then yes I am extremely excited!
british marathon champion paula radcliffe gives good advice for first timers running the NYC marathon
Mary Wittenberg - CEO of New York Road Runners and race director for the ING NYC Marathon - responds to the recent NY Times article about back of the pack “plodders” walking it in at 6, 7, 8 + hours. IMHO, if you haven’t trained properly, stay home or at least get out of my way :)
Just under 6 days days now til the start of the NYC Marathon! Wowsa! Sunday’s weather promises to be seasonal to warm with full sun (note to self: SPF 70 and running shades a must)! While I would prefer overcast skies and a slight autumn chill, this is perfect weather for everyone watching the race. On that note, about.com has some good info for spectators. Just remember: “While watching the marathon is not as tough as running in it, spectators still need to be prepared if they hope to have a good viewing experience.”
I like this article because it says it’s ok to run when you’re sick! I still have a chest cold but I’m going to give it a go tomorrow morning. Devil be damned!
The debate rages on- how slow is too slow when it comes to running a marathon?
not a bad cold, but not a good cold either. better now than on nov 1st!
